The Master of Arts and Master of Science degrees in Applied Statistics are offered by the Department of Statistics and provide students with the necessary background to seek employment in statistics or an allied field. The degree programs provide training in applied statistics and in supervised statistical consulting, as well as in the theory of statistics pertinent to applications. Students are required in addition to study in an approved graduate area outside of statistics, such as epidemiology, economics, business, biostatistics, information sciences or numerical analysis.
